Smjörkrúsin er hönnuð til að varðveita smjör við stofuhita í eldhúsinu. Hún heldur smjörinu hæfilega mjúku svo gott er að smyrja með því. Krúsin er framleidd úr steinleir. Hæð með loki: 9cm, þvermál: 12,5cm. Krúsin er í tveimur hlutum, í innri hlutann er sett mjúkt smjör, fylla má upp að brún á krúsinni. Gott er að þjappa smjörinu svo ekki sé mikið loft inn á milli. Kalt vatn er sett í ytri hlutann, tæplega 1 cm borð. Þegar innri hlutanum er síðan hvolft ofan í ytri hlutann, fer hann aðeins ofan í vatnið og þannig myndast lofttæming svo smjörið er ekki í snertingu við andrúmsloft og geymist þannig mjög vel í stofuhita. Skipta þarf um vatn reglulega til að það haldist ferskt. Þvoið krúsina með því að skrúbba hana vel með heitu vatni. Hún þolir einnig uppþvottavél.
The butter crock is designed to preserve butter at room temperature in the kitchen. It keeps the butter reasonably soft so it's perfect to spread it on bread. The butter crock is made out of stoneware. Height with lid: 9cm, diameter: 12.5cm. The mug is in two parts, soft butter is placed into the inner part, it can be filled up to the edge of the mug. It is good to compress the butter so that there is not a lot of air in between. Cold water is placed in the outer part, almost 1 cm board. When the inner part is then inverted into the outer part, it only goes a little into the water and thus a vacuum is created so the butter is not in contact with the atmosphere and thus stores very well at room temperature. Water needs to be changed regularly to keep it fresh. Wash the mug by scrubbing it well with hot water. Dishwasher safe.
